Ohio State star Bosa ejected from Fiesta Bowl for targeting
Ezekiel Elliott is a compelling interview in a sports world filled with clichéd or programmed sound bites. After his exit, though, the Fighting Irish managed two first-half touchdowns and remained in the game until close to the end.
The explanation for that is far less esoteric.
Running back De’Veon Smith had 111 yards on 25 carries for MI.
Kizer’s biggest play came when he threw to the sidelines to Will Fuller, who evaded a would-be tackler and raced down the sideline on an 81-yard play, the second-longest pass play in Fiesta Bowl history.
The other half of the equation?
The injury looked eerily like the one suffered by Georgia running back Nick Chubb in October.

Notre Dame not only lost their Fiesta Bowl game against Ohio State, it also lost its best defensive player.
One thing that won’t be changing in the new year are these fans love for college football, and what better way to ring in the new year than with a game.
The Fiesta Bowl was originally created specifically for the Sun Devils – and in the second-ever Fiesta Bowl in 1972, ASU running back Woody Green rushed for four touchdowns in the Devils’ 49-35 victory over Missouri.
“It’s been a wild journey with this team, something I couldn’t even imagine”, Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple said. “It’s easy when guys block it so perfectly like that”.
Knowing that they must answer, Notre Dame put together a nine play, 75 yard drive in just 1:19.
Senior offensive tackle Taylor Decker says, while the ultimate goal was not reached, this year’s team doesn’t need to make apologies.
GLENDALE, Ariz. – Ezekiel Elliott was Ohio State’s drive capper in the first half.
“I’m disappointed in the play calling”.
Ohio State players pose for a photo after their 44-28 win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl NCAA college football game. We had a little bit of momentum because of that play. “We had to have him on medicine and IVs to make it through the game”. Those plays weren’t called anymore. The Buckeyes answered with an 11-play, 62-yard drive that culminated in a touchdown on a 1-yard Barrett keeper. It just hurts. It hurts a lot because of how we lost. I’m honored to be thought of as one of the best running backs to come through. On first-and-10 from Notre Dame’s 47-yard line, Elliott took a handoff and sprinted through the interior of the Fighting Irish’s defense for his fourth score of the game.
Tweet of the Game: As I mentioned earlier, Joey Bosa was ejected from the game for targeting, and he didn’t wait until the game was over before apologizing to his teammates. “With that I felt like I was at a really good place with where my game”. “I was caught up in emotions”.
Despite the loss, Kelly said he “couldn’t be more proud” of Notre Dame’s showing Friday and throughout the season.
The rant had its effect.
Ohio State had a 496-405 yardage edge in total offense.
“We didn’t flinch”, Kelly said.
“I like where we are”.
Jehu Chesson took five catches for 118 yards and one touchdown, Drake Johnson caught a TD pass and ran for another score, while Grant Perry also caught a ball for a touchdown in the win for the Wolverines.
In the end he was right.
While some of Ohio State’s players talked about “next man up” when asked about replacing Bosa, coach Urban Meyer was more anxious about his team going against Notre Dame without Bosa and suspended defensive tackle Adolphus Washington.
