Ohio State will not discipline Ezekiel Elliott for postgame comments

I’m not a fan of taking a RB in the top 5, but if the Titans win a couple of games and move down, or are able to trade back, Elliott is a guy that will be in play. The Buckeyes need to take care of their own business in The Game against rival MI and have Penn State beat MI State to claim a spot in the Big Ten title game. On ESPN, Skip Bayless said Meyer should bench Elliott for the MI game. Zeke has been a good student, very loyal, incredible football player. Were Elliott’s postgame comments truthful and honest?

Elliott said he “couldn’t speak for the play calling” and “didn’t know what was going on” but said he deserved more than the 12 carries he got during the game. I could have told you a month ago that that was going to be my last game in the Shoe as you can see I was very emotional before the game.

Teammates supported Elliott on Monday, echoing the comments were accurate but the venue was off target. He said he was caught up in emotions and pointed out he is not leaving for the National Football League after this season because of that game.

You can either choose to believe Elliott’s comments are the first crack in the machine Meyer built in Columbus, a NFL Draft exodus will precede a hit in recruiting and more systemic problems will tear all that down.

The Buckeyes had just 105 yards offense entering the fourth quarter while constantly trying to run against the strength of MI State’s defense, which is stopping the run.
