Oklahoma’s Tax-Free Holiday This Weekend

While Oklahoma’s tax free weekend only includes clothing, Texas’ tax free weekend includes clothing, backpacks and school supplies under $100 that are tax free.
“People are always looking for bigger discounts”, he said.
But according to the State House News Service, lawmakers are on a summer recess, and a single lawmaker could block it.

Ahlfenger said shopping locally helps the local economy, but also cuts down on travel costs.
“They have their backs against the wall”, he said. “I hope that means more business”.
While we’re sure some shoppers with above-average incomes took advantage of the tax-free weekend, it primarily benefited low- and middle-income families.
“Our state is headed in the right direction”.
Not everyone is convinced tax-free holidays are worth the effort, given the loss in state revenue.
