Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Baylor Bears

They beat Texas last Saturday by throwing the ball only 12 times.

The Cowboys began the toughest part of their schedule with a win at TCU two weeks ago and edged Iowa State last week, setting up two final games at home against Baylor and rival Oklahoma.

OU comes into the game riding perhaps the best five game stretch in the nation this season. Boston College’s defense might give Notre Dame’s offense fits early, but with little offense, the Eagles won’t have the stamina to keep quarterback DeShone Kizer or receiver Will Fuller quiet for long. “Hopefully they will be loud and insane and hopefully we can go back and relive the similar situation we had here in 2008 when we had Tech in here”, Stoops said. “If we can have that kind of crowd it would sure help”.

Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1) may be playing its best football in years, becoming the first team to win at Baylor in 21 games.

Could the committee really leave out an undefeated team from a Power 5 conference? This year, we will be prepared. Defensively they’re a very good, sound defensively team as well. [They] only have on loss. Baylor may be plug-and-play to a certain degree, but make no mistake, Jarrett Stidham is not your average freshman QB. Hauling in 61 catches for 1,229 yards and 20 TD’s, do not be surprised when Coleman gets one of the invites to NY for the Heisman award ceremony.

It’s still unclear if TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin will play because of a sore ankle. Will the senior be able to play?

In particular, the Mountaineers strung the game out to overtime thanks to 255 yards on the ground, splitting carries between their top running backs. Against OU last week, Blanchard had 13 tackles, a sack and an interception. For the season, he ranks third in the nation in completion percentage (70.2), second in yards per passing attempt (10.0), and second in efficiency rating (183.9). It’s unlikely Patterson will announce a starter before game time, but Coach Stoops says he’ll have his team preparing to face Boykin. And stylistically, I think that would be a shame. History doesn’t bode well for Art Briles’s team, however: The home team has won the past four meetings between these two teams.

See TCU. The Bears, however, don’t have as solid of a resume as TCU.

Oklahoma State needs a win to remain a contender for the College Football Playoff. But injuries are mostly to blame for the occasional defensive woes. The 10th-ranked Bears (8-1, 5-1, No. 10 CFP) lead the nation in points and yards per game, and their defense has plenty of talent.
