The Horned Frogs now stand at 5-1 in their last 6 games on the road against teams with a winning home record, 1-4 in their last 5 games overall, and 1-5 in their last 6 games following a win. If TCU is to have an honest chance of winning, Hill needs to get the vertical passing game going, make some deep passes and gain some yards with his feet. “They can run by you vertically”. The offense has been gaining a lot of its yards on first and second down, which have led to manageable third and short situations.

“That’s what TCU thrives off of – being the underdog”, senior cornerback Ranthony Texada said.

Fortunately for the Frogs, they have the better defense and won’t have to contend with 10-plus receivers. Oklahoma State also is 3-0 against the spread this year, covering their games by an average of 18 points.

TCU leads the nation in third-down conversion percentage at almost 66 percent. Today, ‘Bama has been joined at the peak by Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and defending champion Clemson at 11 – and they haven’t fallen so much as the others have moved to catch them.

At this point, the TCU offense looks like it’s miles ahead of their defense. Missed tackles need to be cleaned up but scoring each game is a plus. The Pokes can not afford to let him loose all afternoon. And while TCU doesn’t have a warehouse full of offensive weapons like Oklahoma State, it still has plenty of playmakers and a quarterback who knows how to utilize them.

Injuries are a concern for the Pokes.
