Oklahoma Wal-Mart manager arrested in $75,000 heist
Police say the Walmart employees believed the man because he was apparently dressed as an armored truck driver.
He drove away in a dark Chevrolet.
The store didn’t realize anything was wrong until the real Loomis employees arrived about half an hour later.
We do want to make one thing clear, detectives sent us a picture on Monday of a man who they considered a person of interest and asked for the public’s help in identifying him.
Both Oklahoma authorities and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation are looking into the case and for the suspect.
Authorities in northeast Oklahoma have received some anonymous tips about the identity of the suspect whose image was captured by a video surveillance camera. Officers said they have cleared that man because he was a shopper who had nothing to do with the crime. The suspect shown in the surveillance video dressed as a security guard has not yet been apprehended, he said.
Williams said Wal-Mart has alerted its other stores about the theft and his department has notified other law enforcement agencies. Investigators said Bustamonte was the getaway driver while Robertson was working a shift at Walmart.
Williams said investigators have no evidence the suspect may have once worked for an armored transportation service and was familiar with its procedures. “It’s a possibility”, said Williams.
