Olusola Oke Disputes Ondo APC Primary Election Exercise, Seeking Appeal
Abraham, who was rumoured to be Tinubu’s preferred candidate lost to former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s candidate in the coming governorship election in the state.
Praising APC for institutionalising transparent internal democracy as demonstrated in recent party’s primaries across the country, Olatunbosun urged Akeredolu to work closely with other aspirants and party leadership in the state to ensure victory in the November governorship poll.
Oke, was the 2012 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also the erstwhile National Legal adviser of the party before defecting to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) prior to the former President Goodluck Jonathan losing the 2015 general election.
Alhaji Mahammed Badaru Abubakar, Jigawa State Governor, who was chairman Electoral Committee for the primary announced the result of the exercise and declared Akeredolu as victor and candidate of the party.
“Having score the highest votes, I hereby declare Akeredolu Oluwarotimi as the victor and Ondo APC governorship candidate”, he said.
In his remarks, Akeredolu extended his hands of fellowship to other aspirants appealing to them to ” let us act as one family and rescue Ondo State”.
Akeredolu will now go fly the party’s flag in the governorship election scheduled for later this year.

The Publicity Secretary of the APC, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said in statement on Sunday that Akeredolu’s victory was a consolidation of the rancour-free presidential primaries that produced President Muhammadu Buhari to be followed by Kogi State primaries that produced the late Prince Audu Abubakar.
