Olympiakos have signed Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso
Following a short spell at Leicester City in the Barclays Premier league, Estaban Cambiasso has moved to Greece to join the Super League champions Olympiakos. The 34 year old joins Olympiakos on a one year deal with an option to extend.
Former Leicester midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has joined Olympiakos after reportedly turning down offers from Aston Villa and West Ham.
“I hope we will play as many matches as we can in the Champions League. Everyone is happy that Olympiakos will be involved in the competition”.
Cambiasso has enjoyed a decorated career, winning domestic titles in Spain and Italy at Real Madrid and Inter respectively, while also lifting the Champions League with the latter under Jose Mourinho.
However, the midfielder, who will turn 35 later this month, rejected the opportunity to add another year to his contract at Leicester, and took the opportunity to depart the club this summer.
