Omar Abdullah led opposition delegation from J&K to meet PM Modi tomorrow
“One fails to understand why these leaders held separate meeting and chose to meet President to submit memorandum”.
Referring to the opposition meet he said that “we had a threadbare discussion on the prevailing situation but had differences over some issues which resulted in a virtual dead lock”.
Later, Abdullah accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-People’s Democratic Party coalition government in the state of trying to “crush the agitation by using administrative measures”.
Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah on Saturday said we can’t blame Pakistan for unrest in Kashmir.
He also alleged that people who are undergoing their 43rd day of restrictions and curfew are having further restrictions placed on them, increasing their misery.
Balbir, while hitting out at them said that leaders of Congress, NC and CPI were only in a rat race of remaining in news; they have rather played negative role and incited the people by their statements instead of helping the government to control the situation.
A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir opposition parties led by former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met with President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday over the ongoing crisis in the Kashmir Valley. Now sale of petrol has been stopped which means it will also affect movement of ambulances.
“From today onwards we have chose to proceed on an indefinite strike across the state”, president of All Jammu and Kashmir Truck Drivers and Conductors Union, Kharudin Wani, said.
“When we tell this to the government, it says Pakistan is involved in it”. Her ruling has continuously failed and so has her ability to deal with the situation.
“A continued delay to engage with the people of the state through a comprehensive and sustained political initiative will further deepen the sense of alienation in the Valley and cast a shadow of uncertainty on its future generation”, the memorandum stated. It’s administrative anarchy in JK. But what is our responsibility; Kashmir belongs to India, and thus, we should perform our duty towards the people of Kashmir.
The Valley has been witnessing unrest since the death of militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8 in an encounter. I am not here to comment on the foreign policy of the government.
“We explained our concerns… the unrest and the people’s suffering is not just a law and order problem”, he said. “It depends on how you use it”.
