On The Clock: Trump And Cruz Dominate Air Time, Carson Lags
Fox Business Network has partnered with national cable and satellite providers to make the upcoming Republican presidential debates more accessible to subscribers. Both of these candidates were invited to participate in a 6 PM “undercard debate”, but Paul refused, saying that he would not accept the second tier.
The 6 p.m. ET debate roster includes Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, former HP (HPQ) CEO Carly Fiorina, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee; and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. He’ll be flanked by senators Ted Cruz (Texas) and Marco Rubio (Florida), and the others on the main stage will be retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and governors Chris Christie of New Jersey and John Kasich of Ohio.
For the debate, however, FBN is making accommodations for those who want to watch it.
FBN plans to debut a new website on Tuesday, January 12, two days before the debate. The site will feature an “On the Radar” column that consist of social media and videos, which will be utilized during Thursday evening’s debates. FBN will also be providing live debate content on the network’s Facebook page, including behind the scenes footage and moderator interviews conducted by Jo Ling Kent.
Our venue is the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Fox Business anchors Trish Regan and Sandra Smith will moderate the early debate, while anchor and Managing Editor of Business News Neil Cavuto and anchor and Global Markets Editor Maria Bartiromo will moderate the primetime showdown.
Republicans have one more debate scheduled before voting begins in Iowa, a January 28 event in Des Moines.
