‘Once Upon a Time’ Casts Hercules and Meg
Although there have been hits and misses with the characters that Once has brought in, its hard not to be excited about the latest casting announcements: Jonathan Whitesell will play none other than Hercules himself, and Kacey Rohl will play adventurous Meg.
Here’s What’s Next For Your Favorite “Once Upon a Time” Couples! In addition to the two would-be lovers, Greg Germann of “Ally McBeal” was also reported to be this season’s “The Distinguished Gentleman”, which, according to speculations, is also code for Hades.
Bailee Madison is confirmed to return to the series in the same episode, which means we’ll also be getting more young Snow (or teen Snow?) flashbacks. Her last appearance on the show was March 2013.
Whitesell’s hulky Hercules is determined to become the greatest hero of all time – until he falls in love with a princess.
Megara on the other hand, is described as a “plucky young adventurer” who has a sense of humor, but has a tough exterior. She has been kept in a dungeon for a long time, but is looking for the “right opportunity to shine bright again”. Both characters, originally from Greek mythology, sound similar to their versions in Disney’s 1997 animated movie Hercules.
Once Upon a Time is going Greek as it confirms Hercules and Meg are coming to Storybrooke.
Peter Pan (Robbie Kay), Cora, the Queen of Hearts (Barbara Hershey) and Sidney Glass aka the Magic Mirror (Giancarlo Esposito) were previously announced for the show’s upcoming 100th episode. Similarly, Rohl found success on several TV shows, including Hannibal, Fringe, Supernatural, and The Killing.
“Once Upon A Time” Season 5 Episode 13 airs on ABC, Sunday, 8 p.m. ET.
