‘One Day at a Time’ revival ordered by Netflix
Proving that she will never, ever stop working, EGOT club member Rita Moreno is set to star in Netflix’s Latino remake of Norman Lear’s classic One Day At A Time.
The Netflix multicamera incarnation, in another twist from the original, will feature three generations living under one roof.

Netflix has reportedly ordered 13-episodes for the remake, which is expected to center on a newly divorced military mother as she tries to raise her two teenage kids behind the assistance of her old-school, Cuban-born mother and her zany apartment building superintendent, Schneider. It was inspired by co-creator Whitney Blake’s life as a single mother.
No casting details. Mike Royce, a well-regarded veteran producer, and Emmy Award victor, long associated with Ray Romano and “Everybody Loves Raymond“, will be an executive producer on this new project, which does not yet have an arrival date. The scribes will also serve as exec producers with Lear and Michael Garcia (“Devious Maids“).
One Day at a Time is headed back to the small screen.
Production on “One Day at a Time” will be announced later this month.
Netflix has ben developing original programing for the past few years and has seen several hit shows.
The comedy also unites Lear with Royce after the former expressed admiration for NBC’s The Carmichael Show – where Royce serves as a writer-exec producer.
The Norman Lear-created family sitcom, which originally aired from 1975-84, is being revived by Netflix, Mashable has confirmed.
