One dead, three wounded in shooting outside Fenway Park bar
Four men in their late 20s were shot, and one was pronounced dead at the scene.
An unidentified man was killed early Thursday morning in a shooting in Fenway Park, in Boston, as reported by WCVB.
Investigators say around 2 a.m., officers on patrol in the area heard gunshots, and responded to Who’s on First at 19 Yawkey Way, seeing several hundred people flee the area. Three other men in their 20s were transported to Boston-area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The bars in the area were crowded after high school football games had been played at Fenway Park.
No arrests have been made in the shooting and police the investigation is ongoing.
Fenway Park asked those attending the Thanksgiving Day football games to enter at Gate B at the corner of Van Ness and Ipswich Streets, as Yawkey Way remained closed.
Following the shootings, police said that that they’re not ruling out the possibility that the incident was gang-related. The bar received a licensed premise violation following those September shootings. Both Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissioner William Evans spoke on Thursday of the bar’s previous issues and claim that issues are being addressed with the licensing board, according to WCVB.
