One Direction is taking a break
One Direction’s members are reportedly pursuing solo interests, but say that after a year, the band will regroup.
ONE Direction will reportedly disband next year and NOT tour their fifth album. Sources told E! News that “They will remain together and plan to work together in the future”, and another source added “They love working together…”
Do you think One Direction’s split will be permanent?
The boys are to have a break over the festive period before getting back together to complete their promotional commitments for their record label in February, according to The Sunday.
The Sun reported that the hiatus would have happened whether or not Zayn stayed with the band. After they have finishing promoting the album, the boys will be “free agents for the first time in five years”.
However, the final decision to take a break was made after a meeting in London last weekend.
The news comes just five months after Zayn Malik announced he was leaving the band.
The source also insists that Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction last March is not the reason behind the group’s decision to take a lengthy break.
While Styles has been offered lots of lucrative projects from Hollywood, Tomlinson is being considered to be a judge on “X Factor” for its next season.
According to the paper’s insiders, the break is described as a simply a hiatus, and one that will resume with the band members reuniting “at some time in the future”.
It’s thought Liam Payne will continue songwriting, producing and DJ’ing rather than starting a solo career. “I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am!”
One Direction fans from Plymouth have been reacting to the news on Twitter tonight.
As they embark on independent projects, the band will not tour their upcoming fifth album.
