One Direction’s hiatus will last two years
The British- Irish boy band, One Direction composed of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne, released their fifth album, “Made in the A.M.” last Friday, November 13.
“We haven’t really had time to write an album and whereas two years of…” “We had two or three months at the start of the year where we planned that was the writing time and we wouldn’t normally have that much time”, Tomlinson said.
Speaking about what may happen during their time off, Payne said: “We might just not move”.
“Writing’s not really a job”.
He also said: “It doesn’t always have to be so literal, in that you say, “This is a love song about a girl I used to see”…Not every love song is necessarily about a person”.
Bella had maybe one of our fave answers ever on how to choose just one of the guys, telling Sugarscape: “Harry Styles if I were to choose one but why not blend them all?” Um. You can write from an observation point of view and you can write a great love song about two people you’re not.
While Olly may have accidentally forgotten, One Direction’s fans, who were sitting in the audience, reminded Caroline Flack’s co-host of his actions. Written for themselves, as well as the fans, “it’s about how we’ve all been through so much together”, Styles says. In a video posted on the band’s Twitter account, Louis talked about the process of writing the single.
“It was hard. I think maybe for me the most”.
The album is the first for One Direction since the departure of original member Zayn Malik. I’m curious where the group would go from here if they were to enter the studio again, but I’m unsure if that will happen.
One Direction performed their tracks Drag Me Down, Perfect, Story of my Life, Town and Infinity in the Live Lounge, as well as covering Kanye West, Rihanna, and Paul McCartney’s FourFiveSeconds and Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn.
The group has previously explained they desperately need time off to relax, due to their insane schedule over the past five years.
