One Direction surprised by X Factor video tribute
“Don’t let me go, we can make some more [history], we can live forever!” the boys sang, sending a powerful message about their commitment to what they have with their vocal and devoted adherents, the “Directioners”.
“We’ve had the most fantastic five years.” .
One Direction even received a touching video tribute from Simon Cowell and other stars such as Robbie Williams, David Beckham, James Corden, 5 Seconds of Summer, Little Mix and many more. Above all, you’re incredible guys.
The boy bandmates came together on the X Factor in 2010 and signed off nearly exactly five years later by performing new songs History and Infinity.
“Enjoy your break, you deserve it…I’ll always be here”, Simon Cowell told the One Direction guys as they lined up before him on the X Factor stage, much as they did when they were teenagers competing in the competition all those years ago. He even applauded One Direction for their accomplishments in the past five years and shared that he was proud of the band.
Shortly after, One Direction posted its own video to fans on Facebook, thanking them for the support they’ve shown for the past five years. “We can’t believe what had happened to us”.
And he wasn’t the only one to wish the boys well.
“We’re sad to be going away for a little while, but we need it. You can see how happy we are, it’s genuine happiness”.
‘What’s so great about this time is that we are going to find it nice to have the time to be able to reflect and think about everything that we have done and I think it is important that the fans do that as well. Not because of the contestants but because of One Direction.
One Direction band member Payne acted as the representative of the group when he gave a “massive thank you” to the band’s fans. Never can we thank you enough for how special you have made the last five years for us!…
After a clip played of Beckham listening to Steal My Girl in his vehicle, the former footballer said: ‘You need to come back soon, or you’re gonna have more videos like that’.
