One Year After Massacre Peshawar School Tries To Move On
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday marked the first anniversary of the deadly terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar, saying no cause justifies brutality against children.
Germany, the United Nations, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have called on Pakistan to cease executing prisoners.
“It was the third lesson of the day, and an army doctor was giving a lecture on first aid in the school auditorium”.
The PM said, “The incident of December 16 deeply moved the nation and the entire nation has adopted single ideology after the incident as they felt the pain of victims deeply”.
One parent said many children were disfigured or crippled in the attack and need continuous, long-term treatment and psychological rehabilitation.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, CJSC General Rashid Mehmood, chief ministers of four provinces, chief minister Gilgit Baltistan, Governor KPK and Gilgit Baltistan, PTI chairman Imran Khan, JI chief Sirajul Haq and other leading political and military leaders were also present in the ceremony. During the ceremony, one minute silence was observed by the participants and candles were lit in the memory of the victims.
Some of the militants, fighting under the Tehreek-e-Taliban banner, carved out sanctuaries in north-eastern Afghanistan and remained secure until they came under attack amid growing signs of improvement in Pakistan’s relations with the United States and Afghanistan.

The operation was launched in June 2014, six months before a team of six or seven Taliban militants stormed the army-run school in Peshawar; the attackers all either blew themselves up or were shot and killed by the army.
Some parents are demanding a full judicial inquiry, complaining that no government, security or military official has yet been held publicly accountable.
The National Assembly of Pakistan suggested the government to observe December 16 as “Pakistan Children Day” every year to remember and commemorate the sacrifices given by APS children.
But at the school, teachers and students told AFP that education was their best revenge.
