OnePlus 2 Phone Review: No ‘Flagship Killer’ but a Phenomenal Bargain

As you may already know, OnePlus 2 is running Oxygen OS, a custom ROM based on Android 5.1. For an extra $US60, you get the same phone with more RAM and 64GB of storage. We are excited to have partnered with Ola, known for their excellent personal transportation service, to bring forth the OnePlus 2 experience to users in the most personalised way. OnePlus needs to make sure it has a buyer lined up for every phone it makes. The highlight of the camera is that it large 1.3 micrometre light-collecting pixels, which as per the company delivers some great low-light shots. For $330, you get a beautifully crafted phablet with a good display, plenty of horsepower and a clean, easy-to-use version of Google’s Android operating system. Also included are improved battery performance, improved “user interface logic and coherence”, and various other fixes and enhancements.

The fingerprint sensor works flawlessly too.

Earlier this month, the Chinese phone released the OnePlus 2 in select markets. I couldn’t trick it.

It comes with USB-C type and offers 4G LTE support over several bands.

Keep in mind that this isn’t a major update, so there’s no need to back up the information stored on your phone. It’s sort of like when Apple switched its charger to the Lightning port in 2012 and everyone had to scramble for new adapters. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor sits under the hood and is helped by a sizeable amount of RAM, 4GB to be exact.

As great as the phone is, it’s not much to look at. Are you surprised (or not) by the results attained by the Galaxy Note 5, LG G4, and OnePlus 2? It’s thick, heavy, and not almost as attractive as the latest Galaxy phones from Samsung.

The update is pushing out on the One Plus 2 across various countries. The 13-megapixel camera is pretty decent with new features added. The official changelog further mentions that other improvements and bug fixes have been implemented as well, but no additional details are provided on any of them.
