OnePlus Announces Android 6.0 Marshmallow Updates for OnePlus Phones
Reports are emerging that one Galaxy Note5 user who’s on T-Mobile has received the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
There are rumors that Samsung may release the Android Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 5 by December.
More details on when Marshmallow will arrive on the OnePlus X should emerge in the coming weeks. It’s pointed out that the community build of the OxygenOS for the OnePlus One will also be updated at a few point, although that is not what the device ships with. As for the Cyanogen OS running OnePlus One, the company mentions that Cyanogen will send out the update sometime in Q1 2016.
We’re all eager to discover when our smartphones of choice will finally receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update – and for OnePlus smartphone owners, it’ll mean waiting until the beginning of next year.
OnePlus devices run Cyanogen OS or Oxygen OS, but considering the stock look and feel of both, the company’s customers are just as eager for the latest version of Android as every one else. However, last night things changed dramatically, as a particular Galaxy Note 5 user with a lot of experience managed to get the supposedly official update on their handset by tinkering with the phone.
After installing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop custom firmware, restart the Galaxy Note 3 by tapping “reboot system now” option from the recovery screen.
OnePlus has been pretty quick in pushing out frequent updates to OxygenOS.
First of all, you will need to download the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Pac-man ROM and Gapps zip files to your computer.
