OnePlus Launches ‘Make In India’ OnePlus X At Rs 16999

Still, the OnePlus X is no slouch. It has a smaller screen, different materials, and different (slightly lesser) specs, too. The handset comes in two models – Onyx and Ceramic – and both of them look stylish. It may not be as exclusive as the Ceramic variant, but it still has a handsome design. “We still don’t have a good way of categorizing this type of device”, he tells me.
The OnePlus X is reasonably well stacked when it comes to ports.
It allows the users to store data up to 32 GB in its internal memory, which is expandable to 128 GB through a microSD card. On the right side you’ll bump across the volume and power buttons, while the left edge accommodates the Alert slider which controls the Priority / None modes. Instead, it features an older micro-USB port.
According to past reports and rumours, the OnePlus X is expected to be priced around 250 Dollars, which converts to Rs 16,290.
The OnePlus X boasts a 5-inch high definition screen and 3GB of on-board RAM alongside 16GB of storage with space for a microSD card.
The software developed by the Chinese phone marker brings quite a few handy features. The deeper blacks in turn make colours pop and improve the screen’s overall performance. This would have been fine a year ago, but these days this chip is beginning to show its age. The Snapdragon 801 was a high-end CPU when it launched and it’s still powerful enough, most likely outperforming the more recent Snapdragon 617. 2 aperture lenses along with an 8-megapixel of selfie shooter.
Despite not being a flagship, the OnePlus X has plenty of exciting things to offer in its category, especially considering the attractive retail price of $249.
The company claims that the phase detection autofocus technology makes the rear camera to be the fastest image snapper with 0.2 seconds of autofocus time, which has been offered till now. Secondly, I found the Onyx better looking than the Ceramic.
The OS is still based on Lollipop, but Pei says a Marshmallow build is coming and that many features, like Doze and Quick Settings customization, is already available on Oxygen OS albeit OnePlus’ own implementation.
This is because the skin’s code needs to be tweaked in order for it to work with each Google update.
I wish more companies would learn from Motorola’s example and start using untouched versions of Android on their handsets.
That said, OxygenOS isn’t the worst skin out there.
