One of the biggest complaints regarding the OnePlus 2 – aside from the silly invite-based purchase system – was lack of NFC, but the company will apparently fix that in an upcoming smartphone whose specs sheet seems to have been leaked. It boasts 32 GB of eMMC 5.0 storage expandable via microSDXC and a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The display is going to be protected with either Corning Gorilla Glass 3 or 4.
Then there will be a 3,000-3,100 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery, USB Type-C with Quick Charge 2.0, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.1, IR Blaster, a MT6630 wireless SoC, 1.2W front-facing speaker, and an NFC chip for supporting Android Pay with the help of a fingerprint sensor fitted at the back.
There will also be a dual-camera setup with a 13MP sensor capable of filming in 4K and having a dual-tone LED flash. It will also have a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
Display of the alleged OnePlus Mini will get Panel Self Refresh (PSR), which is also called Display RAM (DRAM) by OnePlus.
The terminal will apparently be wrapped in a removable plastic shell (with different colors and styles sold separately), and will have an IP67 dust and waterproof certificate. Also, the primary camera may or may not use MediaTek’s Super Slow Motion recording of 1080p@480fps. And allegedly, MediaTek will release the kernel source. And on the inside, you can reportedly expect the OnePlus Mini to come with MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) SoC and 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The OnePlus mini price is rumored to set you back $250 and is expected to launch in November or December of this year. Furthermore, the source itself claims that these details are from a prototype that’s already two months old, which means that certain hardware specs may have changed in the meantime. Reports have indicated that this will be a mid-range device, and that it might be called OnePlus Mini or OnePlus X. We haven’t had much specific info when it comes to this phone, well, at least thus far. Treat the information accordingly and maintain a healthy dose of skepticism.
