OnePlus Mini’s Official Name Could Be ‘OnePlus X:’ Photos, Specs Surface Ahead
While the sandstone finish at the back of the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2 was appreciated by many users, will it be the right move to add a glass back?
Earlier this week, we told you that OnePlus CEO, Liu Zuohu, all but confirmed the OnePlus X naming scheme for the company’s third smartphone which is expected to arrive soon. The new device was revealed by the commission in a single photo, with very few details to go along with it. Other noticeable features include a microUSB port and dual speakers that are located at the tail-end of the device. The FCC has not provided any specifications of the OnePlus Mini, but has posted a live image of the handset on its website, showing its rear side. The new OnePlus smartphone, named E1005, may be announced at the October 12 media event of OnePlus in India. But the device was shown to be 139-mm tall, which translates to a nice 5-inch display, as Phone Arena pointed out. According to the report, this is apparently the exact dimension of the rumored “OnePlus X”.
As noted by PhoneScoop, the device differs quite a bit from previous handsets designed by the company, with this device boasting rounded edges on the top and bottom. While OnePlus hasn’t made any official announcements yet, a new phone called the OnePlus One E1005 just passed through the FCC.
And there’s the Bluetooth, GPS, LTE and Wi-Fi radios that caused the handset to have to pass through the FCC’s certification in the first place. On the software end, the new device is believed to run the Oxygen OS, which is the forked version of Google’s Android.
The entire configuration of the device is also expected to be held together and powered by a modest 2,450 mAh battery unit.
Chinese startup OnePlus launched it second phone this year.
