OnePlus Mini specs revealed
Fresh details have emerged concerning the second new OnePlus phone of the year, the OnePlus Mini.
While OnePlus is busy with the market roll-out of its flagship smartphone, and is aggressively sending out invites for the handset, rumour mills are in overdrive regarding a mini version of the handset monikered as OnePlus Mini. The device is expected to be launched in November or December, and will reportedly cost $250. Besides, it will have 32GB storage capacity, which is expandable via microSD card. Helio X10 does not fare well in gaming, so the OnePlus Mini will render the 3D games at a lower resolution like 720p and will then upscale it again to 1080p with the help of MediaTek MiraVision, thus improving the gaming performance and reducing power consumption and heat output.
So the in-development OnePlus Mini has rocked up in a set of AnTuTu benchmarking results (via Weibo) carrying the model number A2301.
The phone has a smaller display than the OnePlus 2 at 5-inch (with a 1080p resolution), meaning it isn’t exactly the miniature device we were expecting to see from the company. The display is going to be protected with either Corning Gorilla Glass 3 or 4. It will also have a 5-megapixel camera on the front side of the phone. OnePlus claims that sacrifices had to be made to achieve that price point, so it’s a bit of a slap to the face for OnePlus 2 owners if the Mini comes out with NFC. One spec that was notably absent from the OnePlus 2 was NFC connectivity, but that will apparently be present in the OnePlus Mini, complete with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for Android Pay support.
The configuration which has leaked suggests 32 gigs of storage and 2 gigs of RAM, so not quite as capacious as its larger brother.
I’m not sure what to make of all this, but it doesn’t sound as mid-range as perhaps first suggested; with the inclusions, it could actually be better than the OnePlus 2… what do you make of it?
There was a report that the OnePlus Mini(OnePlus x) will sport a dual-camera setup on the backside of the phone. saying that the Smartphone will sports a 13-megapixel camera on the rear with Sony IMX258 sensor having f/2.0 aperture aided by a Dualtone LED flash.
