OnePlus One Gets Cyanogen OS 12.1 Update OTA
OnePlus is reportedly pushing out the Cyanogen OS 12.1 over the air to the first-gen OnePlus smartphone users.
The company informs that “the update provides critical security fixes for your device to address recently publicized vulnerabilities on Android devices”.
In the process of update, Android Police mentioned that Cyanogen OS 12.1 update will comprise of 645MB with a running build of YOG4PAS1N0 on the phone. This update is being sent to users of the OnePlus One by OTA, and as usual, we must have patience for the new version of the system reaches all terminals.
The complete Cyanogen OS 12.1 update can now be downloaded online manually. The treatment and processing of PNG images is also improved, showing a more definite form, as well as some notifications of SIM, which were previously causing problems and solves this version. The homepage’s default search engine is Bing, so it seems the change is due to the Microsoft and Cyanogen partnership.
After it began rolling out the first over-the-air update for its new smartphone, the OnePlus 2, OnePlus was abruptly forced to recall Oxygen OS 2.0.1.
On the other hand, the importance of Cyanogen OS 12.1 update is to be able to patch the loopholes that the Stagefright bug virus has brought to OnePlus One, Tech Times reported. You can download it straight from here if you don’t mind installing it manually. Several Android handset manufacturers have already released patches for Android’s Stagefright vulnerability which allows attackers to take control of an Android device by sending a specially crafted media file delivered by an MMS message. But those who are not fans of tinkering with their phones should refrain from doing this and simply wait for the update to show up.
