Online, mail-in voter registration deadline Monday
At lunchtime, employees at the Thomas County elections office had already helped 300 people.
Here is what you need to know to make sure your voice is heard in this year’s election.
Any mailed-in voter registrations must be postmarked Tuesday in order to be valid for this election cycle.
Also be wary of people asking for campaign donations.
Then you can mail or take the form in person to your county’s registrar’s office. The closest one is Duval, at 105 East Monroe Street Jacksonville, FL 32202.
Finally, you can print a form off the secretary of state’s website georgia.gov/agencies/georgia-secretary-state and mail it in, but it must be postmarked by October 11. Voters without a photo identification will be issued a provisional ballot at the polls.
For those that will be away from their homes and precincts come election day, there is the absentee ballot option.
Voters can learn more about the qualifications that must be met to cast absentee ballots by visiting www.scvotes.org.
Today is the last chance to ensure your voice is considered when the votes are tallied November 8 in what is, by many accounts, one of the most volatile elections in recent memory. At least two mail transactions must be made. Considering the length of the ballot, voters who requested their ballot by mail are urged to act early.
Vote-by-mail ballots are non-forwardable and are sent to the voter’s current mailing address on file unless the voter requests the ballot be sent to a different address.
“The voter ID law has been extended for those who have had an impediment – some sort of difficulty in obtaining one of the original seven forms of ID”.
Voted ballots must be received by the county election office by Friday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. All early voting is done at this location in the Bingham County Courthouse, 501 N. Maple, #107.
