Operation Christmas Child collection is this week
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritans Purse.
The Caribou United Baptist Church served as the collection site.
They smashed their own record this year by filling a massive 100 shoe boxes with all manner of items including toys, stationery, books, soaps, teddy bears and much more. ‘Operation Christmas Child, ‘ an annual campaign is now under way. Other clubs and organizations across campus also packed boxes.
Crewe store manager and team leader, Shaun Procter, said: “It was awesome to have so many volunteers from the stores in my area getting together to help the community”. Desired gifts include toys such as dolls, action figures and stuffed animals, as well as essentials like hygiene products and school supplies. It was great for team morale to leave the store for the day and support the community.
Thanks to the generosity of people from across North Wales and Chester more than 10,000 parcels will be loaded on to a lorry from Operation Christmas Child’s warehouse on Whitegate industrial estate.
Patricia from Operation Christmas Child commented: “I can’t express how thankful I am for the volunteers from Spar”. Over 2,300 boxes were filled by Lee students this month.
