Oppo shows Apple how to eliminate iPhone’s notch with style

By looking at the device, you can’t find cameras anywhere on the device. That’s because all three of the Find X’s cameras are hidden in a pop-up slider that appears when a camera is needed and then disappears when it is not.

OPPO isn’t contented with just a single OPPO Find X flagship smartphone. The handset doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner and it relies on face unlock instead, which means that users will have to open the camera tray many times per day to unlock their smartphone.

Talking about the hardware, the device comes with a 6.42-inch dual curved AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution nad 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

This feature on the Find X gives it an edge over other phones with traditional camera placement.

There’s a growing trend to offer increasingly bigger displays with a high screen-to-body ratio and bezels as slim as possible. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB RAM. In terms of the specs, the handset comes with a dual-camera setup on the rear panel comprising a 16-megapixel primary shooter backed by a 20-megapixel secondary snapper.

But as The Verge notes, mechanical components like a sliding camera module could pose issues with water resistance, durability, and longevity of the device.

There’s also a 3,730 mAh battery, complete with fast charging. This phone doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor anyplace – the only biometric option is face unlock with the front-facing camera. Oppo is calling them “Bordeaux Red” and “Glacier Blue”, and saying they shimmer like a “precious gemstone”. It features the built-in Google Assistant and the smart low-power-consumption MIC with DSP module. Frankly, we’re not surprised, given that OPPO is no stranger to taking an unorthodox approach to smartphone camera systems. This edition is crafted with premium material, houses 512GB of internal storage and supports Super VOOC flash charging technology, which is claimed to charge the phone in just 35 minutes.
