Oprah Winfrey Earns $12 million with one Twitter Post
Weight Watchers has 63,621,022 shares outstanding, which would mean Winfrey owns 6,362,102.2 of those, without even exercising her option.
The TV titan addressed a variety of topics during a private call with Weight Watchers members Wednesday, all related to looking and feeling like your best self.
This is how she did it: She is a major stakeholer with six million shares in a firm Weight Watchers, a firm that promotes healthy eating and weight loss.
Winfrey has lost 26 lbs.to date (and yes, she eats bread every day).
‘None of those people had stood in their closets with three different sizes to try on on the floor, where the waistline didn’t fit and the arms didn’t fit, and the hips didn’t fit, and you can’t get it zipped, and felt that shame and that humiliation of “Wow, I can’t believe I’m in this position again,”‘ she said.
Now down 26 lbs. since starting Weight Watchers in August, Winfrey says that the community coming together is why the program works.
After her tweet, Weight Watchers shares increased by 18%, according to Market Watch. “The difference is, I’ve made the shift and this is the way I’m going to live for the rest of my life”. I have bread every day. Accoriding to a USA Today report, the company’s stock had been slumping for the past few years, but once stock investors heard the news of Winfrey’s 10% stake in the company, sales began to soar. Since December and January, the stock has fallen more than 50 percent as the Standards and Poor’s fell 10 percent.
She also loves her vegetable garden, which is perhaps the most endearing thing about her. Follow Oprah on Instagram immediately and you will be rewarded with gems like this.
Wonder what her impact on the bread industry’s been? When the stock went up 16%, so did her bank account. As anyone who’s dieted knows, carbohydrates like bread are frequently on the prohibited list for weight-loss plans.
