Oracle creates an extra 450 jobs in Dublin
The company, which has set the target of becoming one of the leading players in the cloud market, is aiming to hire 1,400 cloud sales professionals that will push the company’s cloud business throughout the region.
The company is on the look out throughout the EMEA region for the best talent which is highly motivated and has a minimum of two to three years of experience. Oracle claims that the recruitment drive “follows a multibillion-dollar investment” to create an industry-leading cloud portfolio. “Anybody looking to make a real impact with their career in technology should come and join Oracle, The Cloud Company”.
The company will hire 1,400 people to work in six locations, including Amsterdam, Cairo, Dubai, Malaga, Prague and Dublin, where a third of the new recruits will be located.
In addition to increasing its cloud sales workforce, Oracle said it will be investing in two new cloud sales centres in Amsterdam and Cairo and new offices opening this year in Dubai, Dublin and Prague. The US-headquartered giant stated that it has won 1,500 new software-as-a-service and 2,100 new platform-as-a-service customers in the past six months.
Oracle president Loic Le Guisquet, said that though these are “exciting times” for the software giant it will be very cautious about who it selects.
The company now produces 600 different cloud applications which aims to assist companies in managing their overall computing environment while they make the transition to the cloud. “Starting today we are hiring 1,400 sharp, ambitious inside sales professionals across Europe, the Middle East and Africa”.
As part of the Dublin recruitment process, Oracle have also opened new state-of-the-art offices to accommodate its growth. We are recruiting people who understand cloud computing.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Jobs Minister Richard Burton, as well as officials from IDA Ireland which has supported the Oracle investment, were given a tour of the company site as the announcements were made.
