Orcas Chase Fishermen’s Boat Off San Diego Coast
Although killer whales very rarely attack humans, the sight of them giving the two fishermen chase is enough to make anybody worry for their safety in the turf of these incredibly intelligent sea mammals.
A video titled with the first names of two fishermen, has caught the attention of most viewers on Youtube that captured the deadly trail of several whales behind their boat in San Diego, last week. The fishermen posted a video of the incident on YouTube showing the orcas surrounding the boat in pursuit as the fishermen tried to flee to the shore, according to The Huffington Post. The best part in the video comes after the 1 minute and 20-second mark when you can clearly see a whale jumping out of the water – just a few feet away from the boat. One fisherman suggests they get closer but overall the tone of their adventure is one of a bit of fear mixed with awe.
“He’s right under us still!”
In the video’s description, Ben said that he saw the animals but couldn’t determine exactly what they were until they approached the boat.
The two men were spearfishing on a six-metre fishing boat on September 10 when they noticed something break the surface of the water in the distance.
