Oregon College Shooting: Father Of Survivor Says Gunman Was ‘Targeting Christians’
Mercer is deceased, officials say.
A GUNMAN singled out Christians, telling them they would see God in “one second”, during a rampage at an Oregon college Thursday that left at least nine innocent people dead and several more wounded, survivors and authorities said.
Anastasia Boylan suffered a bullet wound to her spine. At the time, lead investigator Kate Battan insisted that Rachel Scott is not the person discussed on the video and said what happened at Columbine was not “a God thing”, according to a 2000 article in Christianity Today. Two girls, who were killed in the shooting at Columbine High School, Colo.in 1999, became known as women who stood up for their faith. Witnesses describe hearing loud gunshots. “And when she turned and she looked at the classroom, the look on her face was horrifying, and that’s when I knew something was wrong”, the student said.
“The longer people sit in there, the more they know it is going to be bad”, she said, referring to a gathering of investigators and FBI agents in a small building at the fairgrounds. They huddled together behind backpacks and chairs, underneath tables. She said her brother, “even if he was sad or mad, would try to cheer up everybody”.
“We collectively are answerable to those families, who lose their loved ones because of our inaction”, POTUS explained.
We already know that Christians have been beheaded by ISIS.
The shooting appears to have started in one building before the gunman moved to the school’s science building, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN. Officials want to ensure that all families have been notified before releasing the names of those killed.
“We exchanged shots with him, he’s in a classroom on the east side of Snyder Hall”, an officer hurriedly informed the dispatcher.
One student, Courtney Moore, 18, saw an event unfold that led to her professor getting shot in the head.
Four patients underwent surgery at Mercy Medical, Gray said. The extent of their injuries was not known.
Three people with gunshot wounds to the head were transferred to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, he said.
It wasn’t immediately clear why the hospitals’ numbers conflicted with the figure provided by Sheriff Hanlin.
ATF agents were also on scene and canine teams were en route to search for explosives, fire arms casings and ammunition, a spokesman said. It’s obvious-“Christian Lives Don’t Matter”-either here or overseas”.
The picturesque campus sits on a hill in a logging community, which is fairly rural but easily accessible from Interstate 5.
Locals would add that the shooting was ‘so out of character for the whole area, ‘ until now….
News of the shooting quickly reverberated through Washington and the 2016 campaign trail.
“Our victims and their families are our priority”.
President Barack Obama reacted angrily to the shooting on television and the Internet.
In a national address, Obama lamented that mass shootings have become routine in America.
