Oregon DOE lab evacuated after bomb threat
A U.S. Department of Energy laboratory in Albany, Oregon was evacuated around Tuesday after receiving a “credible bomb threat”, according to a Reuters report.
Police investigating the threat have yet to locate a bomb on the campus, but the site remains closed.

No injuries have been reported at the National Energy Technology Laboratory’s Albany Research Center, which is about 65 miles south of Portland.
The Albany Lab employs roughly 46 federal and 80 contract employees who among other things conduct fossil fuel research.
Recent lab contributions include new approaches to maintaining safety on the nation’s bridges.
The NETL, which researches clean production and use of domestic energy resources, has 126 employees at the Albany campus, a lot of them contractors, the Energy Department said.
No threat was found at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Albany. More than 1,800 projects make up the lab’s research portfolio, with total awards of more than $9 billion and private contributions of more than $5 billion, the site says.
