Oregon’s ‘klepto kitty’ steals neighborhood weed
Brent Weisberg tells us about some of the items, not all of them legal, that the “kleptokitty” has collected. “I’m sure he got that from over here by the high school”, said Kempas.
Cop Dave Kempas has now nicknamed the pet “Kleptokitty” – and revealed that his criminal thieving has been going on for the last four years. He kept his cat’s secret to himself, but then, at the urging of his record’s department he created the Happy Klepto Kitty Facebook page. He said Tigger does it all-year round, and daily during the summer.
Illegal loot: Tigger aka Kleptokitty once stole a bag of weed and left it for his owner Police Sgt.
Kempas said that Tigger’s adventures made him curious, so he set up a camera to catch the little thief in action.
He’s always surprised with what gets dragged home. Tigger also brought home a bottle of visine.
Kempas said his other cats bring home “normal cat things”, like dead animals.
That’s because his owner, more like accomplice, is the police sergeant for the West Linn police force!
“He seems to substitute birds, mice and snakes, with socks, candy wrappers and weed”, Kempas said.
