Original Aladdin Cast Reunites to Sing ‘A Whole New World’
Get ready to feel all the nostalgia-induced feels.
23 years after “Aladdin”, theater actress Lea Salonga had reunited with the cast and crew of the 1992 Disney movie on an episode of the American TV show “Good Morning America” that aired last Friday, October 9.
Lea, who did the singing voice of Princess Jasmine was present with Brad Kane who was Aladdin’s singing voice, as well as the Scott Weinger and Linda Larkin who did the speaking voices of the characters, and Jonathan Freeman, the voice behind Jafar.
Almost 23 years after the theatrical release of “Aladdin“, the Disney classic is stepping into the spotlight once again.

Both Salonga’s and Kane’s careers extended past “Aladdin” into Broadway and other parts of show biz.
“I just wanted that very romantic feeling of a flight over the city”, Menken said of his experience in writing the instantly recognizable song.
It was the first time Salonga and Kane shared the stage to reprise the duet since their appearance at the 1993 Academy Awards, wherein the Disney Ballad won “Best Original Song”. The the eight-time Oscar victor said it’s a favorite at weddings.
