Orlando City believe they can sign Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo
This past week we learned that there would be a movie coming out about the life and wonderful career of one Mr. Ronaldo.
According to ESPNFC, Orlando City’s owner wants Ronaldo over Messi. Hopefully, we can sign him for this upcoming season. “We’d sign him without thinking about it”, Da Silva said in an interview with Marca. They did that last summer when they brought in a former World Player of the Year, Kaká, and they did it again in March when more than 62,000 people filled the Citrus Bowl for their opening match against new York City FC. “We’ve always heard that he’d like to come to the United States to play“.
Of course, any move to the United States in the near future is unlikely, with Ronaldo continuing to set a high standard for Real. In addition, the Barcelona man has such a huge affinity with his club, whereas the Blancos No. 7, while revered by the Madridistas, seems a little more detached from the club’s supporters. Messi has expressed his desire to play for the club down the road.
The Portuguese equalled Real Madrid legend Raul’s goal-scoring record yesterday in the two-nil win over Malmo, reaching the personal historic milestone of 500 career goals in the process.
As for Messi, he is still injured but should return in early November.
Chances of Messi joining MLS ever – 2.1%.
Signing Ronaldo in the next few seasons, regardless of how good he is, would be a major boost for Orlando.
Could either head to MLS?
