Osama’s whereabouts not known to Pak:Mukhtar
A former Pakistani defense minister appeared to confirm on Indian television Tuesday that both his country’s senior military and civilian leadership knew of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden’s presence in their country at the time of his death in 2011.
Bin Laden was killed following an operation by US NAVY SEALS 2 May 2011 in the north-western city of Abbottabad.
When asked if former president Asif Ali Zardari and Army chief General Ashfaq Kayani had prior information on Bin Laden, Mukhtar simply said: “Yes”.
Answer of Chaudhary Ahmed Mukhtar: a few people knew, people in the Pakistan Army, as well as people in the other forces they also knew it and they, were on the lookout for somebody of the stature of Osama Bin Laden. “Today what their former defence minister has said is only an affirmation of that”, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. “The way he (Obama) hid himself, we could not identify him”, then Pakistan interior minister Rehman Malik had said shortly after Bin Laden’s death was announced by US President Barack Obama.
‘He was in the military containment, near their military containment in Abottabad…(if Pakistan) doesn’t know about him having a residence near a military containment, that poses even a bigger question, ‘ he said.
According to a controversial article in the London Review of Books by veteran investigative journalist Seymour M Hersh, United States forces killed Osama bin Laden with the full cooperation of Pakistani military and intelligence agencies, who had kept the 9/11 mastermind prisoner inside his infamous Abbottabad compound for years before the fatal raid. As Pakistan has always denied the alleged presence of the Al Qaeda founder. They try suicide. They would try to complete off their our bodies by simply killing themselves.
We urge readers to KINDLY go through the above statement of Pakistan’s then Defence Minister of Pakistan disclosing the presence of the world’s most wanted man hideout in their nation merely less than a 100 kilometres from national capital Islamabad. He said that Mukhtar has denied giving any such statement to Indian channel but the damage has already been done.
