Oscar winner Jamie Foxx helps rescue driver from vehicle
The 48-year-old star dashed to the rescue of 32-year-old Brett Kyle when he crashed his vehicle outside the actor’s home and he has now spoken out about the dramatic incident. The auto, which was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Potrero Road east of Hidden Valley Road, struck a drainage pipe and concrete, causing it to roll over multiple times, authorities said.
Jamie Foxx helped rescue a man from a burning vehicle following a crash near his home in Los Angeles.
The actor already had called 911, so first responders arrived a short time later and transported the victim to a hospital with injuries, TMZ said.
Foxx said he told the man, “You’ve got to help me get you out, because I don’t want to have to leave you”. The CHP confirmed that one of the Good Samaritans was Foxx.
Witnesses say Foxx told police he heard the accident in front of his house in Hidden Valley, California, ran out and saw the passenger still buckled in the burning auto. Kyle, who was taken to Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, has since been charged with DUI. According to CNN, he was arrested and accused of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, Brett’s father Brad Kyle visited with Foxx at his upscale estate on Tuesday afternoon to thank him for saving his son’s life. I just look at it as, you know, you just had to do something.
Choking back tears, he said: “It doesn’t matter to me who it was, what they do for a living or whatever – just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I can fathom”. “He’s got two sisters and a brother”.
“He didn’t have to do anything”, Mr Kyle added.
The Grammy victor has not flaunted his personal heroics since the crash, remaining silent about the event on all of his social media.
