Oscars 2016: Will Leonardo DiCaprio win the elusive Oscar this year?

No sooner had the nominations been announced at a ceremony in Beverly Hills than the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite began trending on Twitter, as was the case a year ago.
The president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has responded to the glaring lack of diversity among this year’s Oscar nominees.

Apart from these three films, others contending for the Best Picture award are “Spotlight”, “The Big Short”, “Brooklyn”, “Room” and “Bridge of Spies” – a Steven Spielberg and Reliance Entertainment Film production.
Alongside DiCaprio, the nominees for best actor are – Matt Damon (The Martian), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) and Bryan Cranston (Trumbo).
Just a month after its release, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” box office collections (global) have soared to $1.76 billion, according to movie studio Walt Disney, which brought the franchise in 2012 for $4 billion.
