Oscars 2017: Stars don ribbons on red carpet in honor of ACLU

The ACLU has been seen as a driving force against the Trump administration’s anti-immigration policies, notably asking for an injunction to challenge President Donald Trump’s travel ban. The ACLU thanked Miranda for his support on Twitter.

Lin-Manuel was nominated in the category of Best Original Song for his contribution to Disney’s “Moana” soundtrack, “How Far I’ll Go”, though he had stiff competition from not one but two offerings from “La La Land“. And in a tweet during the Oscars, the ACLU said it was ready for it.
