Her half-spoken, half-sung monologue – “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)”- was one of the most poignant moments from the movie. “But we are so excited for ‘Moonlight.’ I think it is one of the best films of all time”. It’s the sort of inglorious yet exhilarating moment that the Academy Awards aren’t going to be able to shake off, ever.
In the press room, Emma Stone said, “I was holding my Best Actress in a leading role card all the time”. Iranian director Asghar Farhadi did not attend the ceremony to protest USA president Donald Trump’s executive order banning visitors from seven Muslim-majority countries, including Iran.
