Osweiler: I’m only concerned about starting this week

The future of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning remains in doubt as he recovers from a torn plantar fascia in his left foot. Ronnie Hillman and CJ Anderson had trouble getting things going this season with Manning starting and Osweiler’s play has helped boost things on the ground.

“I’d love for it [the foot] to be healthy yesterday, I can assure you”. This cast is kind of like a holding pattern.

On Wednesday, Manning addressed those reports. But there’s no guarantee whatsoever. “We’re fortunate to have a guy who is a big athlete and is bigger than the guys who are covering him, and at times I think sometimes we feel like the contact is made and because the other guy takes the brunt of it, sometimes we end up getting called for it”.

Manning was in North Carolina last week and visited a specialist who recommended him to wear a cast on the injured foot. “Some earth-shattering medical information there”, Manning said. “We’ll just take it one day at a time”.

Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler will reportedly start for the remainder of the 2015 season. He started pointing out some things to me about some of the things that he felt good about, and he was echoing that to Brock. “It bothers me now”.

The player has a history of back problems and also missed a significant part of his early career due to a forearm injury.

Brady threw TD passes to tight end Rob Gronkowski and Scott Chandler following Britton Colquitt’s shanked 25-yard punt and Osweiler’s tipped interception at his own 15-yard line before the Broncos came in at the half trailing 14-7.

Browns starting quarterback Josh McCown is done for the season after breaking his collarbone in Monday night’s last-second loss to Baltimore. After engineering an overtime win over the previously unbeaten Patriots, the Broncos may have a tougher decision going forward.

The Broncos are 2-0 in Osweiler’s starts, and the Broncos are now able to open up Kubiak’s playbook, with its assortments of bootlegs and play-action passes. He led Denver to come back and win Sunday night’s huge game against the then-undefeated Patriots.

Should Osweiler maintain his form, Kubiak might be rolling the dice by inserting Manning as starter.

He’ll let everyone one else speculate about his football mortality, though. “I’ve always wanted to meet “they” and ‘sources, ‘ because both seem to know a lot”. I’ll just be working hard and trying to get 100 percent as soon as possible.
