Osweiler: Texans ‘close to exploding as an offense’
It had been eight weeks since the Packers’ secondary deflected as many passes as they did Sunday.
On a snowy day, Rodgers didn’t eclipse 100-yards passing until late in the third quarter. The Packers led 7-0 at halftime and gave up a tying touchdown to Houston in the 3rd quarter.
“These are games that we have to figure it out”, O’Brien said. “We’re not finishing drives. Did the same this week”. Houston had a 44 yard touchdown pass with 1:51 left in the game, but missed the extra point.
► On Oct. 9, police arrested 13 people and ejected 15 others during the Packers’ game with the New York Giants.
Following the 98-yard, go-ahead drive, the Packers put together an 89-yarder to go up two touchdowns with just 4:41 left. Nelson proved to be the difference make on offense with 8 catches for 118 yards and scoring his 10th TD of the year.
The Lions’ impressive road win against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday didn’t sit well with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“Just being… never mind”, said a smiling, nearly embarrassed Nelson of getting fired up. “If we don’t, we’re not going to be where we want to be”. That’s all I’m anxious about.
“(Seattle) is a team we have a little history with. “You can’t run the table if you don’t win today, so we were fortunate to get this one today”.
Following embarrassing blowout losses to the Tennessee Titans and the Washington Redskins this season, the Packers fell to 4-6.
Osweiler finished 22 of 35 for 202 yards.
Many of us would agree that the team’s offense is close to exploding, but not likely the way Osweiler sees it. We’re all able to see it on the film. “We know how important every single week is”. Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below! However, Ryan Griffin lost a very costly fumble for them. Green Bay is 24th in the National Football League in rushing yards per game at 99.1 (though its 4.3 average per carry ranks 11th) and the Packers have had to get creative to try to fashion a running attack – particularly after Eddie Lacy, who remains the team’s leading rusher with 360 yards, had to go on Injured Reserve after five games – increasingly using receiver Ty Montgomery in the backfield and also bringing in whatever free agents are available. “Their average drive start was the 38-yard line”. Rodgers was hit just four times overall. “That’s how we have to view them”.
McCarthy gave credit to a pair of players who play the flanks on their particular side of the ball: Wide receiver Jordy Nelson and cornerback LaDarius Gunter. Miller spent several minutes on the snow-covered ground before walking directly to the locker room with four trainers.
Houston DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow/wrist) and OLB John Simon (chest) and Packers RG T.J. Lang (foot) were among the inactives.
