Outages shut down phones, Internet in Wilson County

Update: Trevor Thomas of Verizon confirms the disruption and says they are working to restore service, but can’t confirm how many customers are affected.

AT&T Cares issued this response: “There are issues for both wireless & wireline there [Kentucky]”. “We’ll offer incredible value with more flexibility and convenience through our integrated packages that deliver a great experience”.

Sprint is now working on a fix.

Verizon Wireless spokesperson Kate Jay says a connectivity issue is causing a service interruption. At the time of the announcement of the deal, AT&T had estimated that its annualized cost synergies will be around $1.6 billion.

According to USA Today there are rumors that Dish is in merger talks with T-Mobile. A subsequent tweet acknowledged that there were some towers being worked on, which was impacting service in the area. The Nashville Metropolitan area and the surrounding counties were among the worst affected. Our engineers are in touch with the vendor regarding the source of the issue affecting customers.

An ongoing AT&T outage is making communication hard on the Belknap campus.

Reports of service outage have spread across the country as far away as Louisville, Ky., the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.

AT&T (T) has become the only provider to deliver nationwide TV and wireless services on a single monthly bill.

Users on Downdetector have also reported outages for Verizon and T-Mobile.

Many of those complainants were from the Tennessee Valley area.
