Pablo Zabaleta confirms he will remain with Manchester City

Manchester City played their third pre-season match earlier today, dropping the result 3-2 to Arsenal.

“I think in terms of spirit and character we will be a real team and that is what I want”.

“We have to improve that but if the solution was to play long balls, that would be easy”.

The Spaniard has already signed five players for the Citizens, with German wonderkid Leroy Sane becoming his biggest deal of the window so far.

“I was curious to see him (Sterling) on the right side”.

“He isn’t fit. There’s a little problem with his hamstring, he hasn’t made it to a training session yet, so he’s not here”.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes City have hired Guardiola in order to help them compete with the continent’s elite clubs.

The Argentine has won two Premier League titles in his eight years with City, but lost his place in the starting line-up to Bacary Sagna under Manuel Pellegrini last season.

“I know I only have one year left on my contract, so that creates a lot of speculation about my future but I didn’t decide anything before I came back for preseason to meet the manager and hear from him what was my situation”.

For City, Pep Guardiola has already signed numerous cogs that he hopes can bring the Citizens success in his first ever season in English football. “A lot of speculation, I don’t know how many times I’ve been away”, he said.
