Pac-12 Championship Open Thread

This season, Colorado finished 8-1 in Pac-12 play, which included wins over top teams like Washington State and Utah.

Washington and Colorado battle for the Pac-12 Championship on Friday night at 6pm Pacific Time on FOX.

Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufao injured his leg in the first half, but managed to return for the start for the third quarter.

The Washington Huskies did just what they had to on Friday night – win the Pac-12 championship game in convincing style.

This wasn’t just any conference championship game for Washington. “We just want to come out here and put a complete game together and do our best to be very consistent because this is a very good team we’re up against”.

This game is being played in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers in a placed called Levi Stadium.

The Buffs totally exceeded expectations, which is why they are one game away from snatching the Pac-12 away from Washington. One series later, this time on the fourth play of the drive, Liufau threw another interception to Rapp, putting the Huskies on the Buffaloes 26-yard line.

Liufau was hurt when he was sacked by Washington’s Psalm Wooching with 9:50 remaining in the first quarter. “It’s probably the most frustrating part, especially as one of the captains and one of the leaders and your group isn’t performing to the level it should be”. This was our best season in years for the new Pac-12 champions. Colorado’s Liufau wasn’t quite as efficient but was nearly as effective despite missing time with an ankle injury. But plenty of opponents had more overall talent than Colorado this season and the Buffs won consistently all year. Quarterback Jake Browning, meanwhile, threw for two touchdowns in what was otherwise a lackluster night through the air. The Huskies covered 65 yards in seven plays – six of them rushes – and capped that bruising journey with Lavon Coleman’s 1-yard touchdown run. Browning was hit from behind as he threw the pass to the flat on his right.

At the end of the game the Washington Huskies proved that they deserve the number four ranking by convincingly beating the Colorado Buffaloes 41-10. Washington will learn their fate Sunday morning when playoff semifinal pairings are announced.
