Packers and Vikings Week 17 game moved to Sunday night
It’s the biggest game of the week, as the NFC North will be decided in Green Bay.
There had been speculation that the Vikings-Packers game scheduled for next Sunday would be flexed to a night game but now it’s been announced: the game has indeed been flexed.
The Packers themselves have already locked down a playoff spot so next week’s game is merely for divisional bragging rights and playoff seeding.
The Packers and Vikings are both 10-5, and with the division title on the line, NBC saw that as the most attractive Week 17 matchup.
The Packers are already installed as three-point favorites in this game, a surprisingly low number considering how badly Green Bay beat Minnesota earlier in the year and the game being played at Lambeau Field.
Seattle’s fate really depends more on the Minnesota-Green Bay game than it does its own, so the Seahawks will have some waiting to do following next Sunday’s game before they can make a flight plan. It turns out they do.
Ten games are set for a 10 a.m. PST kickoff, with the New York Jets at Buffalo, and Pittsburgh at Cleveland involving a potential AFC wild card.
First round byes: Panthers and Cardinals. So an Arizona victory over Seattle combined with a Carolina loss at home against Tampa Bay would give the Cardinals the top seed.
