Packers Hall of Fame game matchup cancelled (AUDIO)
Michael Avenatti, the lawyer who sued on behalf of fans who showed up for Super Bowl XLV with tickets that didn’t correspond to actual seats, told Pro Football Talk that he will sue the NFL over Sunday’s canceled Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.
CANTON, Ohio- The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton announced on Monday how it plans to refund money to those with tickets to the canceled game.

For the two teams, they get a few extra days of practice without having to play in a meaningless (extra) preseason game.
Last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers had complaints about the quality of the field, and it may have contributed to them losing kicker Shaun Suisham for the year. Many said that the field paint was melting into the playing surface and the surface was also uneven. And while the league and the Hall spun the cancellation as a “Player Safety” concern and are patting themselves on the backs for making such a decision, many fans in attendance were livid.
“I spent $65 on this food”, a Packers fan said. “How (expletive) do you think I am?” Those areas were hard, slick and uneven and considered potentially unsafe, according to team officials and Hall officials. “You’re damn right I’m mad”.
Said Baker, “One of the doctors shook my hand after we made the decision and said this is the greatest statement in the history of the league in terms of respect for player’s and their safety”.
How comforting it is to note that, apparently, no one struggled with the idea of playing a game on a field that had deteriorated into a tar-like substance at midfield and in the end zones. On top of that it was also ended before the game was even over in 2003 and 1980 due to lightning. But it was still a major screw-up by the National Football League, which should have been able to not only apply paint that would have worked but had some kind of contingency plan in place had something gone wrong. Speaking with the Canton Repository, league spokesman Brian McCarthy said there has been no discussion to move the game.
