Packers ‘missing’ Sam Shields in secondary
The Cardinals blasted the Packers not too long ago, winning 38-8 over Green Bay in Arizona on December 27, 2015.
With the Green Bay Packers set to go to the warm inside stadium of the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, Jones was asked if he was going to ditch the hoodie because of the environment.
Shields sustained his concussion in Week 14 vs. Dallas and has missed Green Bay’s last four games.
One cornerback was working again today, while the other practiced but still has not been given full clearance yet.
“I’ve played my part to make myself available and healthy over these past couple years to do really good things”, said Perry, who has 12.5 career regular-season sacks in four years.
“I think any time you can get your No. 1 guy out there, no matter what position it is, it definitely gives your team a little bit of a boost”, right guard T.J. Lang said.
While they were able to get by Washington last week, it’s obviously going to be more of a challenge for their secondary this week against the Cardinals. He had returned to practice once before during that time for limited work but was not cleared and never returned to the lineup.
It was an encouraging sign for Shields to return to practice. Adams will probably miss the game, so Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis will have to step up in Adams’ absence.
Rollins didn’t practice on Wednesday, but did on Thursday. There’s a lot to be said for having a dynamic line on defense, it can stop the run, it can blow through blocks and take out the quarterback, or it can cause so much pressure the QB makes a poor decision once you get inside of his head. “When I’m playing against Bryan (Bulaga) and somebody else come in it’s like – me and Bryan just have that chemistry”. Still, with Bethel on defense, even with a pick-six this season against San Francisco and a great adjustment interception against Green Bay in Week 16, there’s no doubt that he’s the weak link in the secondary.
Wide receiver Davante Adams (knee) would not practice on Wednesday, McCarthy added.
