Packers QB Aaron Rodgers says he had knee surgery
The Packers’ season ended at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals on January 17 and after declining an invitation to what would have been his fifth Pro Bowl, Rodgers confirmed he had undergone an arthroscopic procedure.
Fantasy Impact: Although the Packers advanced to the Divisional round of the playoffs, Aaron Rodgers is coming off a down season statistically for the usually uber productive quarterback.
Rodgers told ESPN.com on Friday night that he was “doing well” and “recovering on schedule”. Despite the need for post-season surgery, number-12 was on the Packers injury report only once this season. ESPN mentions a hit he took to his left knee against the Detroit Lions on November 15 as a possible trigger.
That might explain why Rodgers dropped out of the NFL’s Pro Bowl last week. It was the only week that Rodgers was listed with an injury. The injury could help explain, at least in part, why Rodgers’ production dropped in 2015. His completion percentage of 60.7% was also his lowest. Doctors repaired a torn ACL that Rodgers said he suffered years earlier while playing basketball in high school.
