Packers WR Davante Adams leaves game with ankle injury, returns later
Ankle injuries haven’t been the kindest to the Green Bay Packers through the first two quarters. He was carted of the field and at the time listed as questionable, but in my eyes is expected not to return, for tonight at least. Lacy checked out early in the first quarter after a run, while Adams left the game after making a 13-yard reception. Lacy was injured while being tackled by K.J. Wright, who landed on Lacy’s right ankle. Last season he rushed for 1,139 yards and nine touchdowns. Fortunately for Packers fans, Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus ranked Green Bay as the fourth-best offensive line in the league coming into the season. However, Adams was terrific in the NFC Divisional game against the Dallas Cowboys, going for seven catches and 117 yards with a score.
Adams is the second receiver on the depth chart behind Randall Cobb.
James Starks replaced Lacy, but Starks lost a fumble in the second quarter. He also doesn’t add much to the passing game, so owners in PPR league should hesitate before playing him. That severely limits Starks’ value because the touches won’t be there. Now that Boyd is gone, Green Bay hopes that their injuries can come to a halt for the rest of the season.
X-rays on Lacy’s knee didn’t produce any negative results, but we still don’t know how many games, if any, he’ll miss with his injury.
The Packers held Marshawn Lynch to just 29 yards on 12 carries and have done a great job eliminating cut-back lanes.
